SPOTLIGHT – WHAT BENUE PEOPLE SHOULD EXPECT FROM PROF. ALABAR’S APPOINTMENT AS VC MOAUM

The academic community in Benue State has been agog with excitement following the news of Prof. Timothy Terseer Alabar’s appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM) by Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

Prof. Alabar, a distinguished scholar and administrator, is expected to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear on the new role when he eventually takes over the mantle of leadership of the Institution.

With a PhD in Marketing and an MBA in Business Administration, Prof. Alabar has established himself as a leading scholar in his field of study.

Prof. Alabar’s impressive academic credentials are matched by his extensive experience in university administration, having served as Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies and Head of Department among other roles assigned to him.

As Vice Chancellor now, Prof. Alabar is positioned to lead Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University to new heights, applying his expertise to strategic planning, quality assurance and innovation.

In the next five years, the university community expects the erudite scholar to drive academic excellence, promote research, innovation and community engagement.

Prof. Alabar’s appointment is indeed, a confirmation to the power of hard work, humility, selflessness and dedication to assigned duties.

As a product of the Nigerian education system, he has no doubt, risen through the ranks, earning recognition and accolades along the way.

His story is a lesson to young Nigerians that with hard work, discipline and passion, they could achieve their dreams.

The Benue State government and the university community have a critical role to play in supporting Prof. Alabar’s vision for the university come to fruition.

They must provide the necessary resources and infrastructure to enable him to drive his agenda.

The government should also ensure a stable and conducive environment for the university to thrive.

Prof. Alabar’s experience in university administration, research and teaching will undoubtedly serve him well in his new role.

He has published numerous papers in reputable journals and also presented at international conferences.

His expertise in marketing, entrepreneurship and business management is a valuable asset to the university.

As Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alabar is expected to promote a culture of excellence, innovation and entrepreneurship.

He must ensure that the university remains a centre of academic excellence for the community and providing solutions to emerging societal challenges.

The university community is optimistic about Prof. Alabar’s appointment, citing his leadership skills, academic credentials and commitment to excellence.

They expect him to build on the university’s strengths, address its weaknesses and explore new opportunities.

Prof. Alabar is an academic who represents the values of integrity, excellence and service who may not wish to fail to deliver on the mandate bestowed upon him.

Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi is destined for greatness, and Prof. Alabar is the right person to lead it to that destination.

Therefore, Prof. Alabar’s appointment as the eighth substantive VC is a welcome development for Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi with all that is required to lead the university to enviable heights.

At this point, Governor Hyacinth Alia should be acknowledged for finding Prof. Alabar worthy of the appointment after meeting the requirements for the selection of who occupies the position.

On his part, Prof. Alabar ought to be exemplary to be able to strengthen the University’s departments, open new doors, accept trends and embrace opportunities that could advance the Citadel of learning so as to justify the confidence reposed in him.

In appreciation of the gesture, it is incumbent on the people of Sankera Geo political zone from where Prof. Alabar hails, rally round Revd Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia for his administration to be spurred to do more.

From our desk, we congratulate the erudite Prof. on his appointment as Helms Man of the State University and pray that he succeeds while hoping that the management, staff and students are carried along in the scheme of things.
